Overview
Our trip starts and ends at the bustling and beautiful city of Split. This is a hands-on sailing experience under expert supervision . It promises to be a real sailing masterclass hosted by Guy Waites, who has just returned from the Golden Globe race. You will be fully immersed in all aspects of sailing including passage planning and victualling as well as actually sailing this beautiful yacht. It will also be a relaxed schedule with time to stop at some of the wonderful ports along the coast and explore at leisure and, with a maximum of six crew, we will adapt the itinerary to suit individual wishes. The trip suits singles and couples (we have double and single cabins available) and there is no previous sailing experience required. Given Guy's vast experience, it will also suit people who want to get some practice sailing miles or hone their existing sailing skills. We will include a night sail and possibility to practice celestial navigation. Day 1 - Saturday - Evening arrival, Welcome on board, meet the Skipper and safety briefing Day 2 – Sunday - Morning, passage planning, final victualling, route discussion, depart after lunch Day 3- 5 (Monday – Thursday) – Adventure sailing including overnight passage, watch keeping, Celestial Nav, 1 or 2 shore stops (for example Vrboska or Starigrad ) Day 6 - Friday - Arrive ACI Marina split in afternoon, Day 7 – Saturday - Disembark after breakfast

While this is a relaxing trip, the focus is very much on sailing. You will have plenty of time with our patient skipper, whether you are new to sailing or honing existing skills
Relaxed Sightseeing
We will stop at several villages along the Croatian coast. You will have plenty of time to explore ashore and, with a small group, we will adapt the itinerary to your wishes
No Experience Required
This is a perfect trip for those with limited sailing experience - the relaxed pace and experienced skipper, making this the perfect introduction to life at sea
Skippers
Guy Waites
Straight after returning from his circumnavigation in the Golden Globe Race (GG2022), arguably the worlds toughest sailing challenge, Guy Waites will be leading our Croatia trip. Guy has huge sailing experience, having skippered in the Clipper Round the World yacht race as well as crossing the Atlantic several times 'solo'. A calm and patient leader - the opportunity to sail with Guy is an absolute 'must'

Day 1 - Saturday
You will join our yacht at ACI Split Marina from 2pm. After stowing your luggage in your comfortable cabin, we will have a full safety briefing.
The rest of the day will be spent getting to know your fellow crew, with dinner either on board or in the bustling city of Split, depending on the wishes of the crew.
Day 2 - Sunday
After breakfast on board, we will spend the morning 'passage planning' together before setting sail before lunch. We will head for the quiet bay of Necujam where we will anchor overnight. This is a beautiful bay on the island of Solta which we can explore at leisure.
Day 3 - Monday
After breakfast, we will set out for Milna. On the way, you will have plenty of opportunity to helm or discuss any aspect of sailing with Wavy.
Day 4 - Tuesday
A short sail to the wonderful town of Stari Grad. A beautiful old city with a relaxed pace of life.
Day 5 - Wednesday
Depending on the wishes of the crew, we will head to either Vis town or Komiza on the island of Vis, located almost half way to Italy
Day 6 - Thursday
Sailing - we always leave some spare time in the itinerary so we can adapt to the wishes of the crew - you will be enjoying the day.
Day 7 - Friday
After breakfast we will set sail for Split, arriving in the evening.
Day 8 - Saturday
After a relaxed breakfast, completion of log books and sharing of experiences, it's time to say our goodbyes.
If you have not already done so, take time to visit Split and the UNESCO protected site of Trogir.

You'll Be Staying Here

Your home is a beautiful Elan Impression 45 - sleeping up to 10 people although we sail with a maximum of 6 passengers to ensure everyone has space and comfort on board.
Below decks
Below decks, our boat has 4 spacious double cabins - you may book a double cabin for yourself, or of course share.

FAQs
Do I need sailing experience?
You do not need any previous sailing experience for this trip - it is a 'hands-on' sailing trip under the expert guidance of our Skipper who will adapt to your wishes
Is it suitable for single travellers
Absolutely! - we have a small group with a maximum of 6 persons on board. There are two single cabins and two double cabins. As a single traveler, you will have the privacy of your own cabin.
What time do we join and leave the boat
You need to arrive at the boat by 4pm on the 13th August.
Disembarkation will be after breakfast on the last day. We will be in the marina the night before disembarkation but please leave plenty of time between expected disembarkation and your flight just in case of delays
What is the refund policy
We recognize that circumstances can mean changes to your plans become necessary. For all bookings made by the end of February 2022, we are offering a full cancellation policy up to the day of departure.
For booking made from March onwards, the trip will be covered by our regular cancellation policy - see booking terms and conditions. In all cases, please contact us early and we'll work with you to find a solution.
Do I need to be vaccinated?
You need to be fully Covid vaccinated to join our Croatian adventure sail.
