We will email you a recommended kit list well before the start of your adventure. We supply life-jackets and all safety equipment and also have ‘foul weather gear’ available to borrow if required.
This really varies and everyone is welcome! - Our longer trips are brilliant “mile builders” and skill builders for people who want to do a qualification and may already have a lot of experience. However, even our epic voyages can be tackled by those with very limited sailing experience - small group and expert, experienced skippers mean we are very adaptable to each individual.
Excellent, hearty food is included in all our trips while on board and you could eat on board everyday if desired. Meals and activities ashore are generally not included unless specifically stated (Although, for example Bed and Breakfast IS included for the stay on St Helena island).
Flights / travel to and from the departure point are not included although we do have a partnership with Ultimate travel club, which may give up to 40% discount on international air fares. Ask us for more details.. You should also consider travel insurance, specifically for ocean sailing. We can provide help here on what you need. Generally meals and activities ashore are at your own expense.
This is an adventure and it should be fun. Our skippers are patient and passionate about ocean life and will go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and enjoy the whole experience.. We keep group size small so you will quickly get to know your crew mates - indeed, many of our crews stay in contact long after their trip is finished. We ask all our crew members (and staff) to behave respectfully to everyone on board and will discuss this at the start of every trip.
