FAQs
What gear do I need to bring?
We provide a recommended kit list well in advance of your adventure, ensuring you're fully prepared. Life-jackets and all safety equipment are supplied, and we also offer 'foul weather gear' available to borrow if needed.
What is the typical level of experience on board?
Our trips cater to everyone, regardless of experience level. For seasoned sailors seeking to build miles and enhance their skills, our longer journeys are excellent “mile builders” and ideal for those working towards a qualification. However, even our epic sailing adventures are accessible to those with limited sailing experience. With small groups and expert, experienced skippers, we adapt to each individual's needs, ensuring a rewarding adventure for all.
What do I need to budget for food?
All our trips include excellent, hearty meals while on board, allowing you to enjoy delicious food every day if you wish. Meals and activities ashore are generally not included unless specifically stated. For example, bed and breakfast is included during our stay on St. Helena Island.
What is not included?
Flights and travel to and from the departure point are not included. We highly recommend travel insurance specifically for ocean sailing, and we can assist you in finding the right coverage. Generally, meals and activities ashore are at your own expense.
What is life like on board?
This is an adventure, and it should be fun! Our skippers are patient, passionate about ocean life, and dedicated to ensuring you feel relaxed and enjoy the entire experience. With small group sizes, you will quickly get to know your crewmates—many of whom remain friends long after the trip ends. We ask all crew members and staff to behave respectfully towards everyone on board, and we will discuss this at the start of every trip
