Wavysail has come a long way in the last five years - Our focus on sustainable, inclusive adventure sailing, led by the world's leading skippers has really resonated with our crews who've joined our expeditions in the UK, Europe and across the South Atlantic. We've been awarded title of "Best UK adventure sailing operator" two years in a row, shortlisted for a coveted Highlands & Islands Tourism award, for our Oban Adventure sailing trips and, most importantly, have taken hundreds of people on incredible adventures. 



To support our exciting growth plans, including being launch customer for the new ExpeditionZero yacht, we are looking for a General manager who will take ownership of developing the commercial and marketing plan for Wavysail. Including defining the trips, pricing and promotional strategy, communications plan and development of a multi-revenue stream model.

There is already an exceptional marketing team in place, A fantastic shore support leader and an exceptional sales lead – In addition, the two founders of Wavysail will continue to provide support, while allowing the GM to develop the business in their own style.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Entrepreneurial and with exciting, practical ideas of how to develop a world leading, international sailing business.
  • Significant experience in building and leading teams, especially in start-up / scale up businesses
  • At least 10 years, solid commercial experience, ideally in a marine, sailing or travel related business
  • You will understand the magic of sailing and what motivates off-shore sailors as well as a passion for Ocean story-telling which will enable us to build a powerful ocean adventure brand.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?

· The role is 3 days per week minimum with a pro-rata starting salary of £60k

· Flexible working practices, work from home

· Share options in Wavysail after a qualifying period, vesting based on performance

· Free sailing opportunities

The salary is expected to increase considerably as the business model develops, while the share options will give the right candidate a sizeable stake in a scalable business, working alongside supportive and experienced founders on a mission to build a sustainable future for marine tourism.
